Fran Awburn- Waikato
Health and Safety Consultant - Waikato
I am from a rural background with my family farming at Raetihi. My husband John and I farmed there before moving north to the Waikato in the 1980's, where we live today on a small dairy grazing block at Puahue. Our 4 adult children are all on the land involved with Drystock, Dairying, Dairy grazing and Horses.
Farming is definitely in the blood. I have previously worked within the banking industry for 22 years with 17 of those years as a personal branch manager. I now have the opportunity to work within our farming community alongside farmers helping with providing a safe and healthy working environment for all employees and how we can maintain safe work practices under the new legislation coming in.
I have undertaken most seasonal farming tasks over the years and I appreciate and understand the special nature of farming and the fact that our place of work is also our home.
I believe that strengthening our responsibilities around Health and Safety on farm must be taken seriously and practicability applied in order to minimise the risks.
Its a privilege to be working with the team of dedicated like minded people at OnFarmSafety New Zealand.

Gregg Peters- Southland and Otago
Health and Safety Consultant - Southland, Otago and Canterbury
I'm a born and bred Southlander, with a passion for motorbikes, duckshooting and classic cars. I've spent the last 13 years looking after the Health and Safety requirements for a large Invercargill based company who have the franchises for New Holland, Case III, Kubota, Ford and Mazda.
Working in a company that services the rural industry has given me a good appreciation for the types of equipment used on farms and the dangers associated with them. Tractors and machinery are getting larger and more powerful and the potential risk increases along with them.
I pride myself on offering a friendly and thorough service and aim to make complying with your Health and Safety obligations as easy as possible.
